Some of you may have noticed that the baseball season has started. Last Friday Drew participated with many of his schoolmates singing the national anthem at the Tacoma Rainier’s game, our local Triple A team. Another special baseball connection with the Rainiers is that Tim has been able to do chapel with the Spanish-speaking players. He’ll be doing that at Sunday home games this summer. It’s a special opportunity to combine ministry with Spanish with baseball!
Things are beginning to come together for our return to Puebla. It looks like we’ll be driving down the third week of August. Some of our first orders of business will be to find a place to live in Pueblo Nuevo, to get Drew settled back in school, to start tutoring kids in the schools, and start working with the local churches.
Puebla update
The latest update from Puebla is that the church has been going through some hard times economically lately. Chris is feeling that pressure which also puts stress on his relationship with church leadership. At the same time, it sounds as if people have been getting saved and new folks are attending the church. So please pray for the finances of the church, for unity and love in the leadership and for God to continue to bless them with lives that are being changed for his glory.
