{"id":847,"date":"2010-10-28T15:48:59","date_gmt":"2010-10-28T22:48:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theglessners.org\/?p=847"},"modified":"2010-10-28T15:48:59","modified_gmt":"2010-10-28T22:48:59","slug":"from-puebla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theglessners.org\/index.php\/2010\/10\/from-puebla\/","title":{"rendered":"From Puebla!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, we&#8217;re back home!  <\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what it felt like, as we drove over one of the last mountain passes<br \/>\nand saw Popo and Izta in the fading sunset, and a little bit later saw<br \/>\nMalinche.  We say Psalm 121 (in Spanish) with the kids<br \/>\njust about every night.  That&#8217;s been especially meaningful as we&#8217;ve been on this trip.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from?  My help<br \/>\ncomes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>We drove through some hills on the way up  to Puebla (the hills were beautiful; the trucks were annoying), and it is<br \/>\ngreat to remember that the Lord is our help.  That&#8217;s as we drove almost 12<br \/>\nhours today, had a couple interactions with the traffic cops, fought an<br \/>\nintransigent GPS, didn&#8217;t get lost in Tampico (despite all the best efforts<br \/>\nof the sign makers), and drove into the Carrillo&#8217;s neighborhood.  It was so<br \/>\ngreat to ring their doorbell.  And a few minutes later Chris came walking<br \/>\nin.  It was great to see him and give him a big old bear hug.  Drew was so<br \/>\nexcited he ran and jumped into Chris&#8217; arms!  And then we got a great Mexican<br \/>\nsupper, flautas and tostadas with flan for dessert.  Yup, we&#8217;re back<\/p>\n<p>God is so good, he protected us so graciously (as in: he didn&#8217;t owe us a<br \/>\nsafe trip, but he gave it to us anyway) these 4550 miles from Tacoma back to<br \/>\nPuebla. <\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your part in prayer, advice, hospitality, and just plain ol&#8217;<br \/>\nmoral support. <\/p>\n<p>Now for the real deal, the work of ministry in Puebla (Romero Vargas=Pueblo<br \/>\nNuevo)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, we&#8217;re back home!
