We&#8217;ve been hearing it a lot lately.  We&#8217;ve been cycling through colds and coughs and fevers and infections\u00a0since the middle of February.  Even the medical clinic didn&#8217;t help!  We&#8217;re trying to pull out of things now.  But our &#8220;light and momentary&#8221; illnesses remind us to be thankful.  We&#8217;re generally so healthy.  We have a lady at church fighting cancer.  We have prayed for so many sick people and for many of you.  So we have much to be thankful for and remember those who are truly sick.<\/p>\n<p>And of course (since we started this letter) the latest news is the porcine\u00a0influenza epidemic here.\u00a0 Today all schools were closed until May 6.\u00a0Additionally the government is closing all public gatherings.\u00a0 We\u00a0cancelled kids&#8217; club tonight and will be evaluating other activities,<br \/>\nincluding our service next Sunday.\u00a0 We would ask your prayers for\u00a0Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday we\u00a0celebrated Children&#8217;s Day.\u00a0 We had more than 25 children and many<br \/>\nvisitors.\u00a0 8 of the kids were from our neighborhood.\u00a0 Most<br \/>\nencouraging was that so many people from the church planned and executed the<br \/>\nday.\u00a0 We are thankful for what God is doing to allow the church to run<br \/>\nwithout us.<\/p>\n<p>Last\u00a0month we took 13 kids from our neighborhood club to a local safari park for<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/images\/Aventura.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Missionary Adventure\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/thumbnails\/Aventura_sm.jpg\" alt=\"Missionary Adventure\" width=\"200\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Missionary Adventure<\/p><\/div>\n<p>the day.\u00a0 Local churches put on a &#8220;Missionary Adventure&#8221;, a time to<br \/>\npromote missions to children ages 6-11.\u00a0 It was an impressive time.<br \/>\nOver a thousand kids were there to enjoy a session of music and clowns and<br \/>\nthen visit 15 workshops presenting a missions field.\u00a0 After it finished<br \/>\nwe took them to see the animals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/images\/KidsDay.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/thumbnails\/KidsDay_sm.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"75\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\">Children&#8217;s Day<\/span><br \/>\nWe&#8217;re now at the packing stage.\u00a0 We have less than 30<br \/>\ndays before we leave.\u00a0 Things are going well as we sell a few items,<br \/>\npack up books, and make moving arrangements.\u00a0 We&#8217;re sad to be leaving<br \/>\nhere, but excited to be able to see many of you again.\u00a0 There are many<br \/>\nlast minute-details we&#8217;re working on.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAISE<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1. <\/strong>Children&#8217;s Day at church: great church-wide participation and many visitors.<br \/>\n<strong>2. <\/strong>At least one person prayed to accept Christ as their Savior at the\u00a0Children&#8217;s Day service.<br \/>\n<strong>3. <\/strong>The many people who will be helping us move our stuff to storage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAYER<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1. <\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Health<\/span>: Pray for wisdom for the Mexican authorities as they confront\u00a0the epidemic, and for the many people who are ill. \u00a0Pray for a lady, Andrea, in the hospital for a kidney transplant.<br \/>\n<strong>2. <\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ministry<\/span>: Last minute details in the ministry as we wrap things up.<br \/>\n<strong>3. <\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Move<\/span>: Our move and trip up to the States.\u00a0 We&#8217;ll try to fill you\u00a0in on our plans as we set out.<\/p>\n<p>We so much appreciate you, knowing that you care about us and are praying.<br \/>\nThanks.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tim, Barbara-Lee, Drew, Gavin, Fiona<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/images\/OurFam.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theglessners.org\/photos\/2009-04Apr\/thumbnails\/OurFam_sm.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:mexico@theglessners.org?subject=May%202007%20Prayer%20E-Mail\">mexico@theglessners.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Salud!
