\nPrayer Answered<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Lately, we’ve been impressing upon
\nour kids that God answers prayer. In the last
\nyear we’ve prayed for three very sick babies and
\nhave been blessed to see God graciously work to
\nsave them.\u00a0 Last Thursday a small group
\nmember came to the last day of his job at the VW
\nplant and providentially, incredibly, found a
\njob in another department–after months of
\npraying and looking. We have several Bible
\nstudies because God has answered prayers.
\nLast Thursday, Tim got into a car accident, and
\nwe again experienced God’s gracious answers to
\nprayers, not just ours, but many others’.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n


\nHave you heard the expression,
\n“Prayer works?” We’re not particularly big fans
\nof that one, because the implication is that
\nprayer is some sort of a magic formula to get
\nwhat we want out of God. To the contrary, prayer
\nreminds us how desperately we need our heavenly
\nFather, and how we base our relationship with
\nhim on his gracious provision for all our needs,
\nincluding, most importantly, a Savior.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n


\nOf course the inevitable caveat is that “we don’t pray enough.” Too true, sadly, stupidly. Yet we learn
\nand we grow, and we thank you for your prayers. How we need them!<\/span><\/p>\n

Sports<\/b>
\nLast month we mentioned that we were looking for
\nmore players on Drew’s baseball team.\u00a0 Well,
\nnow we have 6 other boys from the neighborhood
\ngoing.\u00a0 Tim drives 5 of them, and in the car
\nhe shares Bible stories, based on Hebrews
\n11.\u00a0 It’s been great to plant some seeds in
\nthese boys, who often beg for a story. We hope to
\nsee them grow into boys and teens who love the
\nLord, not just baseball.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Contacts<\/b><\/p>\n

We continue to work with English on
\nThursdays.\u00a0 We’ve had some new people
\ncoming, but usually only 1-2 men.\u00a0 We’re
\nhoping to get off the ground studying the Bible
\nwith G (who’s back) and Diego, our landlord’s
\nson, who has begun going to church with
\nus.\u00a0 He made a profession of faith some
\ntime ago, and God just hasn’t let go of him,
\nwith various people making an impact in his
\nlife.\u00a0 We would love to see him truly
\ncommit to knowing God and living for him.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n


\n Church Plant Update<\/b>
\nWe’re now starting meetings with the church
\nplant team, reading relevant Bible passages
\ntogether, going through a training course
\ntogether, and trying to form an identity and
\nvision.\u00a0 Our first training meeting went
\nreally well and we’re excited about the weeks
\nand months to come.<\/span><\/p>\n

Help Wanted<\/b>
\nRegular readers know that we rarely touch on
\nfinances, but we really need to mention some
\nfinancial needs.\u00a0 When EBM went bankrupt we
\nlost a sizable amount of funds in our account with
\nthem which really smoothed over ups and downs in
\nmonthly support.\u00a0 That cushion is now
\ngone.*\u00a0 Though some one-time gifts in 2012
\nallowed us to finish the year balanced, the
\ntypical monthly giving to our account is about
\n$600 short of our needs.\u00a0 In other words, we
\nare at about 90% of our monthly needs.\u00a0 We
\nare so thankful for God’s provision and the many
\nindividuals and churches who give to our
\nwork.\u00a0 But if God lays it on your heart to
\njoin our financial support team, we would be

\nBarbara-Lee’s sister-in-law, Aubrey, continues to recover and do well.\u00a0 We are so thankful for the overwhelming response to her situation.

\nNo one was hurt in Tim’s accident and insurance will cover the repairs.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n


\n3.<\/b>
\nContinued responses in Bible studies as we
\nhave finished Galatians and move on to 1 John.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nPray for some of the young men that we are investing in, Diego & “G”, that we would be able to set up some 1-1 discipleship time with them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nPray for the church plant team as we work together and grow in unity, purpose and love for the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n


\n3.<\/b>Pray for the car repairs to go quickly.\u00a0 We’re thankful for many offers of “loaner cars.”
