May 2009 Prayer Letter

¡Adios! ¡Nos vemos!

Those are sort of sad words we’re hearing a lot of these days. We’re in our last week of packing and preparations and last-minute meetings, with lots of goodbyes. It’s good to hurt a little bit at saying goodbye because it means we’ve invested in so many lives and are leaving a piece of ourselves behind. And this is a time to reflect on what we’ve seen God do in the lives of many people. So we are thankful.

Tonight is our last night in our house. Tomorrow the movers come (friends from church, missionaries with a trailer) and we will be moving our furniture to storage for a year. Drew is sad, and Gavin and Fiona don’t fully understand what’s going on, but they know that a lot of their toys are being packed and they don’t like that! We’re thankful that we’re almost done with this process, but there’s still much work to be done.

Our plans are to drive up the Gulf coast of Mexico and spend a week in central Texas with some close friends. We’ll then head up to Barbara-Lee’s family in Pennsylvania, spend some time re-connecting with them, then from mid-July to mid-August drive west to Tacoma, checking in at EBM’s office, attending a conference, and visiting supporters on the way. Lord willing by mid-August we’ll be settling into Tacoma and making preparations to visit supporters this year.

PRAISE
1. That God has let us serve Him for this time in Puebla.
2. For the “adventures” He will be sending us this summer.
3. Health (yes! no stuffed up noses for, like, two weeks now!) and help as we move.

PRAYER
1. Moving: Strength, patience (with one another!), presence of mind, organization, all those things you need.
2. Safety on the road: Our drive up to the States, crossing the border, driving in the U.S. (big adjustment!)
3. Church: Pray for Comunidad Bíblica as we leave, that God will be glorified in His church.

We’ll try to keep you posted regularly as we travel. Next update from…Texas.

Tim, Barbara-Lee, Drew, Gavin, Fiona
